Black Lives Matter

At Pucklechurch Primary school we strive to promote equality and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We feel that it is important to reflect upon the ongoing events across the world in response to George Floyd's death. We have provided lessons in school and on the Google classroom to support children with their thinking. We have discussed Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Mary Seacole and Edward Colston.

 

In KS2, we have written letters to the mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees. In these letters, we have explained our views and thoughts surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement and the Edward Colston statue being removed. Here are a selection of some of our letters:
