School Lunches
Catering at Pucklechurch Primary is provided by ABM Catering Ltd. Rosalynn Chuah, the Kitchen Manager, along with her team of kitchen assistants, offer hot meals which are cooked on the premises in our 5 star food hygiene rated kitchen.
A hot school meal with a pudding is provided daily. Salad is available for children to try with all meals and there is always a vegetarian option on the menu. Drinks are provided by the kitchen for those children having hot meals.
We consider lunchtime to be an enormously important part of the day for most children and therefore encourage them to take responsibility for how they approach their meal. We provide proper plates and dishes for their meals, encourage the children to choose where they sit and to have positive conversations whilst they eat.

Free School Meals
If you have children in reception, year 1 or year 2 they are entitled to free school meals regardless of your household income. From year 3 onwards your children could get free lunches if you qualify for the Pupil Premium. For more information, click here.
ParentPay®
School meals should be selected and purchased online through a secure website called ParentPay®. using your credit or debit card or through PayPoint. Even if your child is in EYFS or KS1 and does not pay for their school meals, a ParentPay login is still required to make meal choices for your child.
ParentPay is easy-to-use and you have the freedom to make payments whenever you want, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Full payment histories and statements are available to you securely online at anytime. Parents can choose to be alerted when their balances are low via email and/or SMS text.
How to get started with ParentPay
Activation letters contatin information on how to set up your account within ParentPay:
- Visit www.parentpay.com
- Enter your Activation username and password in the Account Login section of the homepage. NB. These are for one-time use only, you will choose your own username and password for future access during the activation process
- Provide all the necessary information and choose your new username and password for your account - registering your email address will enable us to send you receipts and reminders
- Once activation is complete you can go to straight to Items for payment, select which item(s) you want to add to your basket and proceed to complete your payment.

Packed lunches
You may prefer your child to bring in a packed lunch. This must be in a suitable, clearly named container. Pucklechurch Primary is a nut free school. Please can you refrain from sending in any food items that contain nuts. If a child forgets or loses their packed lunch, a hot lunch will be provided and the relevant amount charged to the parents. We try to ensure that children return all uneaten food, wrappers, etc to their lunch box to be brought home so that you can see what they are eating
- Not be in glass containers or be cans of fizzy drink.
- Be in a container which has a strong top to prevent leakage but the child should be able to open it themselves.
Please do not send in soup as part of a packed lunch. As a hot drink can be dangerous for both your child and other children at the table.
